Tollot-Gros

Anne Gros and Jean-Paul Tollot are two of the most respected vignerons in Burgundy, together they also make very pure, elegant wines at their Minervois estate in the Languedoc.

The Gros et Tollot vineyards are located in the Le Causse zone of the Minervois, notable for its altitude, which ranges from 200m to nearly 500m. This results in the lowest night-time temperatures in the region and this zone’s semi-mountainous climate is characterised by heavier and more regular rainfall than in the Minervois overall. The other important feature of this zone is the dominance of very stony limestone soils, another Burgundian similarity. Due to its altitude this is among the latest of the Minervois zones to be harvested, meaning slow maturation on the vine. The wines are therefore often livelier than in the other zones, with

bright aromatics, freshness and fine tannins.
